Project Description

Our Maintenance Management team is currently providing the Town of Youngsville, NC with street condition assessments for pre-development streets designated for various developments. Our team maps and locates all damaged areas of pavement along the designated route, where each damaged location is measured and documented. An overall PCI score is given to the street. Post-development, we will revisit each site and re-assess, documenting increases in damage and providing recommendations to bring street conditions back to pre-development conditions. Different locations that we have provided assessments for include South College Street, Wheaton Avenue, Wolfpack Lane, and Tom Williams Road.

For the Tom Williams Road project, we were contracted to provide a pre-development Pavement Condition Assessment. The project size is approximately 1,170 FT. in length and is a through road from NC96 to S. Cross Street. During the assessment, our inspector documented that the road exhibited Light, Moderate, and Severe Alligator Cracking, along with Light Transverse, Light Rutting, and Severe Oxidation. Some areas had been patched and patching was classified as Light (6% to 15%). The Ride Quality on this road was classified as Moderate.

The major defects were identified in the right travel lane from NC96 to S. Cross Street. Light Alligator and Patchin were identified in the left travel lane. There was also transverse cracking identified at the intersections with NC96 and S. Cross Street.
