Plant Sciences Building North Carolina State University Summit was the Geotechnical Engineer and Special Inspector of Record for the new, state-of-the-art NCSU Plant Sciences Building on the university’s Centennial Campus. The $160,200,000, five-story, 185,000-square-foot structure contains research labs, office space, corporate lab and office suites, atrium space, conference space, and rooftop greenhouses. University of North Carolina As part of our scope of work, Summit's team conducted CMT/SI, produced the site plan package, Special Use Permit application, and design narrative required for site plan approval by the Town of Hillsborough for the medical facility. 1000 Social Summit provided CMT & SI services during the construction of this 12-story Tower and an 8-level precast parking garage. Construction consisted of earthwork and grading, augercast-in-place piles (CFAs), pile caps and grade beams for the office tower, and typical shallow foundations underlain by rammed aggregate piers (RAPs) for the parking garage, foundation walls, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel framing, fireproofing, concrete and asphalt paving. West End Phase II Raleigh, NC Our team provided Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections (CMT/SI) services for the project covering soils, concrete, structural steel bolting and welding, structural wood framing, post-tensioned concrete, and fireproofing.  Our technicians and inspectors made over 2,000 concrete cylinders for compressive strength testing!  Field and laboratory testing verified material quality and compliance with project plans and specifications.  Raleigh, NC
