Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections

On behalf of Lynch Mykins, I am pleased to express my gratitude and recommend Summit for their CMT & Special Inspections services they provided on the Orange County Northern Campus Expansion project. Lynch Mykins was the Structural Engineer of Record (SER) for 2 of the 3 buildings onsite, and from start to finish, Summit provided timely and effective communication in all aspects of the project, as well as proactive and team oriented solutions when issues arose onsite. This daily approach and their commitment to collaborate to find the best solution that balanced safety, quality, and cost made for a successful project. I highly recommend Summit’s CMT and Special inspections team and look forward to working with them in the future.

Blum/Loving has had the opportunity to work with Summit Design and Engineering Services throughout the construction of the CGP. They have been very helpful during the concrete testing process for all the underground utility, CMU grout and retaining walls installation. Summit has been a great asset to the project by making sure that all material met the spec requirements prior to us using as backfill material. Their concrete breaks are turned around in a timely matter and any issues are pointed out and dealt with immediately. In closing, I feel that Summit over all has been an asset to this project to get us where we are now.

My team has worked as the General Contractor on a high-rise office tower with Summit Design and Engineering Services (Summit) for the last 15 months. They have been very responsive, easy to work with, and knowledgeable throughout the project. Resources and Scheduling are typically the biggest hurdles we run into with Special Inspections & Material Testing Firms, we have not had these issues at all with Summit. Summit’s on-site technicians are very knowledgeable and their services cover a wide range of testing/inspections. They are currently performing water/air infiltration tests, weld inspections, soil testing, and concrete testing on our project. While their technicians are very knowledgeable they also are quick to engage management when additional support is needed. Their firms commitment to doing whatever it takes to make a project successful is second to none.
