Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections

It is with much enthusiasm that I am writing to recommend the services of Summit Design and Engineering Services. I have been working with Summit for the past seven years and have always been completely satisfied with their performance. They do an excellent job, are always punctual, and are always very professional. We have hired them to perform professional designs, surveys, construction materials testing, parking lot surveys, structural engineering, and multiple other professional services. They have been very responsive to our requests and needs for each individual project. Their communication and professionalism are outstanding.

As superintendent for Bordeaux Construction, CMAR on the OCNC project, this project included substantial site development and 3 different structures. I wanted to thank Summit for providing this project with a very experienced and capable field technician [ . . .] as well as Summit’s overall expertise. During what was a very wet and difficult year for construction, [their technician] ensured that the site fill and grading was done properly, and particularly ensured that the site development roadways and building pads were properly developed. Additionally, as construction proceeded from footings to slab prep and slab pours, he carefully monitored and tested subgrades, rebar placement and concrete delivery ensuring that the correct design mix was used and concrete delivered met the specifications for placement. The end result is that we can be confident that we are delivering to the owner a high quality product that we can all take pride in.

On behalf of Lynch Mykins, I am pleased to express my gratitude and recommend Summit for their CMT & Special Inspections services they provided on the Orange County Northern Campus Expansion project. Lynch Mykins was the Structural Engineer of Record (SER) for 2 of the 3 buildings onsite, and from start to finish, Summit provided timely and effective communication in all aspects of the project, as well as proactive and team oriented solutions when issues arose onsite. This daily approach and their commitment to collaborate to find the best solution that balanced safety, quality, and cost made for a successful project. I highly recommend Summit’s CMT and Special inspections team and look forward to working with them in the future.
