Chatham County Central Services Building
Recently, Summit was chosen to help the Chatham County School District shape their community by building a 38,000 square-foot Central Services Building. This project will spur collaboration among education leaders, teachers, and parents to provide the best education possible for the children of Chatham County. Our children are the future, and by providing them with a sound education, Chatham County is working to improve its communities.
We serve as the Construction Materials and Special Inspections team for this project, partnering with great industry allies such as CRA Architects, LHC Structural Engineers, and T.A Loving Company. This project will take 12 months to complete.
We staff our labs, located in Hillsborough and Indian Trail, North Carolina, with certified personnel who understand both lab testing, and how it translates to the field. Our labs are both managed by Professional Engineers (PE).
Summit’s two (2) state-of-the-industry materials testing laboratories are both fully accredited through AASHTO Resource (formerly AMRL), CCRL, and NCDOT Tier I and II. Maintaining those certifications requires participation in a rigorous Laboratory Assessment Program (LAP), yearly Proficiency Sample Programs (PSP), and the AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP).
