We assisted with the renovation and expansion of the Walker’s Funeral Home located in Mebane, NC. Our team provided architectural, surveying, land development, and geotechnical engineering services. The Walker family has been in the funerary business for almost 100 years, and the Mebane branch is an extension of the original Hillsborough branch. The original building’s interior was falling into disrepair, and the owners wished to also provide chapel services to better serve their community.
Our architectural design was for a 3,000(+/-) square-foot (SF) chapel addition, a conditioned breezeway connector to the original building, and interior alterations to the original building. After construction began, it was discovered the original building’s structure was failing and was demolished. The building was replaced with a new 2,600 SF funeral service and showroom space. Our survey, land development, and geotechnical engineering teams engaged during the actual construction of the design. With nearly all building/site services performed in-house, the project delivery process was streamlined and had no delays.
