Project Description

Our team provided geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and special inspections, and structural engineering services for the Durham Technical Community College’s Facilities Building in Durham, North Carolina.

The geotechnical engineering team performed a subsurface exploration and geotechnical evaluation that included six soil test borings located and advanced between depths of ten to fifty feet below the existing ground surface (or auger refusal). After completing the geotechnical investigation, our team provided a written report that included the location plan, exploration soil logs, description of the subsurface conditions, results of laboratory tests, and recommendations.

Our structural engineering team provided consultation for schematic design, calculated the assumed reactions for the PEMB frame, designed development foundation drawings, reviewed and edited structural portions of the specifications, responded to SCO comments throughout each phase, assisted with bidding/negotiation, and reviewed all structural shop drawings.
