Summit was the Geotechnical Engineer and Special Inspector of Record for the new NC State Plant Sciences Building on the university’s Centennial Campus. A state-of-the-art facility, the NCSU Plat Sciences building brings together academic, government, and industry professionals to research the challenges of agriculture, agribusiness, food production, disease resistance, and climate change. The $160,200,000, five-story, 185,000-square-foot structure contains research labs, office space, corporate lab and office suites, atrium space, conference space, and rooftop greenhouses.
Our services included subsurface drilling, field and laboratory testing of materials, and Special Inspections per Chapter 17 of the North Carolina Building Code. The building construction was completed in 2021.
