Front Royal Comprehensive Plan & Zoning Ordinance Update

The Summit planning team worked with the Town of Front Royal to update their Comprehensive Plan, as well as Front Royal’s Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. Front Royal is a charming and historic town facing regional development pressure. The project included both in-person and virtual public involvement, where our team used creative methods to generate excitement about the planning process.

We worked with Town staff and local officials to synthesize input into an actionable vision with strategic goals. Our goal was to catalyze change and ensure that the Comprehensive Plan did not simply sit on a shelf. Following the Comprehensive Plan, the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances were updated to align with the newly adopted plan with clarity and consistency.
