Summit is currently working with the Town of Smithfield to update its comprehensive plan. The approach is targeted toward acknowledging the changes brought by recent decades of development and leading toward specific recommendations to mitigate the negative impacts of growth and preserve the quality of life in the Town.
Planning process elements include a thorough Existing Conditions analysis, including an in-depth on-the-ground Land Use Analysis and data set creation, recent and potential development mapping, and a thorough public outreach process including a custom-built, smart-phone compatible website with vision statement submission and outdoor (COVID-safe) public open houses.
