The University of North Carolina Hospitals (UNCH) Hillsborough campus is a community hospital that serves as an extension of the main UNC Medical Center. Currently, the Campus features a two-story hospital, a medical office building, four multi-story bed wings, and associated access, parking, and utility infrastructure. The Hospital is part of the larger Waterstone Development near downtown Hillsborough.
We were there from the very beginning of this project and have provided multiple engineering services throughout its construction. We provided geotechnical engineering, subsurface investigations, construction materials testing, surveying, civil/site layout, and engineering design services. We produced the site plan package, Special Use Permit application, and design narrative required for site plan approval by the Town of Hillsborough for the medical facility. Satisfied with our work, UNCH has invited us back since to work on multiple expansions to the campus, including the medical office building. The project ultimately consists of four phases, with more expansions expected as the hospital grows.
