Summit is leading the engineering design for the widening of 1.8 miles of NC 66 (Old Hollow Road) from Harley Drive to US 158 (Reidsville Road) in Walkertown, NC. We are providing the roadway design, hydraulic design, erosion control plans, TMP/PMP design, signing plans, geotechnical engineering, signal plans, utility coordination plans, and design project management for the project. This project has also involved multiple public involvement meetings and extensive coordination with the Town of Walkertown. Traffic maintenance is a large focus on this project and was a major consideration when designing the horizontal and vertical alignments as well as the temporary signal layout.
Currently, Right-of-Way engineering design is complete for this project and Right-of-Way acquisition is taking place. Coordination is also happening with an intersecting project at the intersection of NC 66 and US 158. Summit is completing the design for this intersection as well.
