Summit was selected as a CEI Sub-Consultant for the $367 million (construction cost), designbuild I-485 Express Lanes Project. The I-485 Express Lanes is a 17+ mile interstate widening project from Exit 51 to Exit 67 in Mecklenburg County, NC. This project featured reconfiguring 8 interchanges, constructing 1 new interchange, 1 new Express Lane direct connect interchanges, 18 bridges, 9 box culverts, 9 traffic signals, 16 Noise Walls, 9 Express Lane Facilities and Gantries for tolling, 49 permitted environmental sites, along with associated earthwork, paving, pavement marking, signing, curb and gutter, sidewalk, guardrail, and utility coordination.
