Project Description

The Public Safety Simulation Complex at Wake Technical Community College was built to provide reality-based training programs for law enforcement, emergency medical service, and fire rescue professionals. The complex, which is located in Wendell, North Carolina, spans approximately 70,000 square feet. Once operational, the facility will include a 4D immersive interior training village and multi-function/specialty training rooms.

Summit was responsible for providing geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, and drilling services for this particular facility. Moreover, the project also encompassed initial site clearing, excavation and grading, installation of roads, bridges and access points, as well as proper site drainage and retention ponds construction to support the first phases of the Eastern Wake Campus expansion for WTCC.

Summit also provided supporting team members for the pre-construction meeting and the review of project documents and also provided inspectors for the following services:
