Summit provided a Technician for a replacement project as part of the district-wide on-call contract. The project involved replacing the John Blue Bridge, which carries WV Route 28 over the South Potomac River. This bridge is a 478 ft., 3-span, steel girder bridge that features 9 ft. diameter drilled pier foundations, 8 ft. diameter columns, and monolithic hammerhead caps. The project also involved associated bridge approaches, paving, pavement markings, and all other work required to tie the new bridge into the existing roadway, with a construction cost task order of $12.5M.
