Project Description

This $9 Million project involved full rehabilitation of 12 bridges on Interstate 40 as they cross the historic Biltmore Estate. It required managed coordination between NCDOT and the private owners of Biltmore Estate, as well as adherence to historic registry guidelines.

The contract involved the removal, cataloging, and reset of granite fascia, removal of existing lead-based coating and repainting of structures, extensive steel repairs, repairs to the concrete substructure, and overlaying of the bridge decks. Our team provided lead inspection services for the entire project as well as multiple coatings and transportation inspectors.
