Bloc 83

Our surveying and geomatics team provided construction staking for the Bloc 83 project. This project included both an 11-story building and a parking deck in an area of Northwest Raleigh, North Carolina.

The columns on a multi-story building have to be accurately positioned on every floor to faithfully construct the building according to the plans, so the team had to maintain a high standard of quality control to ensure the accuracy of the survey work that was completed. We were able to minimize positional errors for this project by referencing survey control points that were external to the high-rise building rather than by carrying the survey control from one floor to the next when each new floor was constructed.
