Our team provided construction materials testing and Special Inspection services for the Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Parking Lots and Bridge project. This project included the north entry bridge, connector road, and multiple parking lots at the southeast corner of the intersection of S. Martin Luther King Blvd. and Lowery Street in Winston-Salem.
We reviewed the grading and utility plans for this project from a geotechnical perspective for conformance with recommendations provided in the final geotechnical report. We also provided a field engineer for the project that observed special foundation installation and soil reinforcement anchors. Summit also provided a Special Inspections inspector to observe and inspect pile driving operations, site work and grading, utility trench backfill and compaction, slope stability and geofabric installation, and subgrade preparation and compaction. Our team also provided a Special Inspections inspector during the placement of the structural concrete for foundations, grade slabs, and hardscapes.
