Announcing Our 2025 Q2 Pinnacle Award Winners!
A cool breeze and fresh air comes upon us this October, bringing with it the unmistakable feeling of fall– and the debut of our newest crop of Pinnacle Award winners! Dedicated and talented employees, our winners are members of the Summit community dedicated to upholding our company values.
What is the Pinnacle Program?
The Pinnacle Program is our means of giving back to our employees. Each quarter, we recognize up to eight individuals from a pool of nominees put forward by their peers.
Any team member at any level can submit a nomination for someone they feel should be recognized. This ensures that every voice in the company has the opportunity to be heard and represented. Furthermore, our goal is for employees to feel gratified knowing that their coworkers see and appreciate their service.
Our 2025 Q2 Pinnacle Award Winners!

Mike B., Senior Project Manager
Mike B. is a long-time traffic engineer with a career tenure of over 45 years. He’s spent eight of those years with us at Summit, and we couldn’t be more thankful for his time on the team. Well renowned for the quality of his work, our clients in NCDOT and local municipalities have commended him for his attention to detail, organizational skills, and his overall dedication to ensuring that each and every task is not only done, but done well. It’s this perspective, and the wisdom that reinforces it, that he’s passed down to the numerous engineers and technicians who have come under his guidance throughout his career in traffic engineering. Recently, another client applauded Mike’s superb work on a complex traffic signal system project. This is just another bit of recognition for what our team has known all along: that Mike is not only a valuable member of the Summit community, but a wise and accomplished individual in his own right, and we’re thankful every day for the work and guidance he provides to the team.

Zoe Z., Civil Designer I

Paige L., Water Resources Designer

Chuck J., Transportation Technician III

Matt C., Survey Party Chief

Kim B., Senior Transportation Design Technician

Lee B., Senior Construction Inspector
Lee has proven to be an outstanding member of our field crew in Virginia, with his contributions going so far as to earn him both recognition and a promotion by VDOT. Most recently, he helped VDOT transition between construction managers on his project by taking on more responsibilities above his level, demonstrating both his capabilities and his forward-thinking mindset. Some recent advice he was given? “keep doing exactly what he was doing.” This level of dependability is what makes up the backbone of our Trusted value, and is one of the things we admire most about Lee and his work. Thank you, Lee, for your continued hard work!
Libby S., Transportation Technician IV
A year out from Hurricane Helene, North Carolina is still inundated with the work needed in it’s aftermath. Libby has been pivotal in assisting our teams own contributions to the recovery effort. By assembling and reviewing project documents for Summit’s efforts in support of Helene recovery in NCDOT’s Division 13, Libby is able to note discrepancies in project documents so that appropriate action could be taken to correct these issues. This demonstrates her high level of integrity and dedication to maintaining Summit’s high standards of integrity and transparency with our client, laying the foundation for one of our key values: building trust. Thank you, Libby, for your honesty and transparency when working with such sensitive material. Your hard work is part of the bedrock that keeps Summit strong.
Congrats!
With so many talented members of our firm, it’s a real accomplishment to be recognized for a Pinnacle award. Please join us in congratulating these eight individuals for their exceptional contributions to our company which have led to our continued success. We’re proud to employ so many outstanding individuals and are honored to reward them for their service. Thanks to our winners for all that they do—after all, when our employees succeed, Summit thrives!
