Project Description

Summit is the Prime Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) firm providing contract administration and inspection on behalf of the N.C. Department of Transportation and N.C. Turnpike Authority for the Toll NC-540 project, also known as the Southeast Extension. This 17.9-mile section of roadway will extend the Triangle Expressway around the greater Raleigh area. This project will connect Apex, Cary, Clayton, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, and Raleigh. In addition to connecting several towns and cities, NC-540 will ease congestion on numerous local roadways. This project will be a step forward in meeting the growing transportation, social and economic needs of southeastern Wake County.

The construction of this project will be segmented with an expected completion date sometime in late 2024. In addition to providing a Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer(s), and over 45 inspectors, Summit is also providing industrial coatings inspection, ITS inspection, survey verification, and utility coordination services for this project.
