Announcing Our 2024 Q1 Pinnacle Award Winners!

The first Pinnacle Award winners for 2024 have been announced!

2024 has already proven to be a very busy year, and we’ve hit the ground running with eight pinnacle award winners who have already brought their best to the table! With so much happening behind the scenes, we’re excited to reward their hard work and dedication to upholding our company values.

What is the Pinnacle Program?

The Pinnacle Program is our means of giving back to our employees. Each quarter, we recognize up to eight individuals from a pool of nominees put forward by their peers.

Any team member at any level can submit a nomination for someone they feel should be recognized. This ensures that every voice in the company has the opportunity to be heard and represented. Furthermore, our goal is for employees to feel gratified knowing that their coworkers see and appreciate their service.

Our 2024 Q1 Pinnacle Award Winners!

Magda H., Project Manager

Magda, one of our talented maintenance management team members, is a woman who leaves a positive impression everywhere she goes. Case in point: Recently, we’ve received praise from the mother of one of our interns, who mentioned that Magda made his internship both enjoyable and highly educational. Her influence made it so that this intern decided to pursue maintence as his career! Though it should not matter who someone’s parents are, in this case, Magda made a lasting impression on a young man’s life, and in return, the Deputy Secretary for Multi-Modal Transportation now knows of Magda and has a direct connection to who Summit truly is and what we are all about. This epitomizes two important Summit values: Building Success and Welcoming Community, each of which Magda has displayed to full effect by assisting this young man.

Aaron G., PG, Senior Geologist
Aaron is a man who excels in project delivery and coordination. At any given time, he may have five or six geotechnical investigation projects underway, all requiring a great deal of coordination between subs for clearing, utilities, contacting homeowners, and scheduling our drilling crews. Despite this impressive workload, he is always able to handle his workload with a professional touch, even in the face of adverse situations. Most notably, his experience and dedication were a key driver of our success at King Coal Highway (KCH) Section 1, and he is proving to be invaluable as planning for KCH Section 2 is underway. He deals with the challenges presented honestly, professionally, and transparently, making Aaron a shining example of Summit’s “Trusted” value.
Dave H., Transportation Technician II

David’s meticulous documentation has been an excellent asset during the inspections of multiple pipe replacement projects. Our team has received numerous compliments on the level of detail provided, which has been crucial in verifying the accuracy of events throughout the project’s lifespan. This level of detail is particularly important to our client when unexpected issues arise, allowing us to handle any potential complications accurately and efficiently. We appreciate David’s commitment to ensuring that our clients trust the work we perform. Thank you, David!

Stephanie S., Architectural Designer II
Stephanie is known for always being dependable, efficient, and unfailingly punctual. Her attention to detail and willingness to take on difficult projects and see them to successful completion have repeatedly impressed her team throughout the three years she’s worked with Summit. She has resolved conflicts and handled difficult situations with remarkable patience and tact. Furthermore, her dedication to her craft has seen her continue to grow as a professional to improve her abilities and help the department grow with her new knowledge. Stephanie’s skills do not end with her office work, however. She also projects a positive, fun attitude to the Architecture department, which makes working a pleasure. She works really well with others and always tries to lift the spirits of those around her. Thank you, Stephanie, for embodying many of our Summit values and bringing your best to work daily!
Julia S., Marketing Admin Assistant
Since joining Summit a year ago, Julia has been an immensely valuable asset to the marketing team. Her attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, and impressive ability to keep dozens of crucial tasks managed at once cannot be overstated She truly embodies each of Summit’s values in her daily tasks. She is responsible for many different things (all of which are very important), from conference and event registrations and logistics to planning internal Summit meetings and working on proposals. She has also been instrumental in continuing to take our WISE group to the next level. She takes the initiative on every project she works with and is a strong communicator. She tackles each project positively and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Julia represents some of the best our marketing team has to offer, and for that, we thank her!
Monika S., Project Engineer II
Monika is a pleasure to work with and has been a great asset to the Infrastructure Team. Since joining us in September of 2023, she has made a tremendous impact on our Water Resources group and has provided invaluable assistance to numerous projects. She excels independantly and in a group setting alike, and her infectious positive attitude, desire to learn, and ability to lead enriches our team overall. Monika is extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented, and she frequently makes herself available to help other disciplines complete tasks. As one of our top performers, Monika has exceeded expectations, and thank her for her numberous contributions to Summit while maintainging our value of building succees.
D. H., Civil Designer II
D. has been rocking it since he started at Summit! He’s been picking up new skills left and right, and he’s been putting them to great use on the Transportation Design team. Whenever anyone needs a hand, D. is quick to jump in and help out, showing his willingness to support the team. Lately, he’s been learning Open Roads Designer, and he’s been using that knowledge to take on new projects in exciting new areas. D. is a positive force for the team- he always comes to work with a smile, and he’s always eager to learn something new and make a difference.
Alan L., RA, AIA, CM.,  Project Architect III
Alan had not one, not two, but three nominations this quarter– an obvious sign that he is well-appreciated by his team. Alan has demonstrated excellent leadership skills throughout his tenure at Summit. Not only does he excel at his job in the architecture department, but he is also a go to person for all technical issues and questions in our office. There is plenty to appreciate about his efforts in the Summit Colorado office, from his enthusiastic investment in business development and forming client connections to his dedication to growing his own skills. He is well organized and the way that he deals with, coordinate with clients is extraordinary. The professional relationship that he has with new clients is remarkable, resulting in numerous project leads. Recently, Alan completed the rigorous Certificate in Construction Management program through Colorado State University, which further broadened his professional skills. Alan, your professionalism, skills, and hard work have not gone unnoticed– thank you so much for your efforts to elevate our Colorado team and Summit as a whole!

Congrats!

With so many talented members of our firm, it’s a real accomplishment to be recognized for a Pinnacle award. Please join us in congratulating these eight individuals for their exceptional contributions to our company which have led to our continued success. We’re proud to employ so many exceptional individuals and are honored to reward them for their service. Thanks to our winners for all that they do—after all, when our employees succeed, Summit thrives!
