Announcing Our 2024 Q4 Pinnacle Award Winners!

The winds might bring cool weather, but we want to wish a very warm congratulations to our most recent Pinnacle Award winners! Each of these individuals has already contributed so much, and we’re excited to recognize their hard work and dedication to upholding our company values.

What is the Pinnacle Program?

The Pinnacle Program is our means of giving back to our employees. Each quarter, we recognize up to eight individuals from a pool of nominees put forward by their peers.

Any team member at any level can submit a nomination for someone they feel should be recognized. This ensures that every voice in the company has the opportunity to be heard and represented. Furthermore, our goal is for employees to feel gratified knowing that their coworkers see and appreciate their service.

Our 2024 Q4 Pinnacle Award Winners!

Jude W., Cad Designer

Jude, who joined Summit shortly after graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Geography, is someone who represents the bright, ambitious talent we love to nurture at Summit. In his first year,  he learned how to be an instrument operator while working in the field with veteran party chiefs before transferring to an office role so he could learn drafting and survey data processing. Jude took the initiative to study for, and pass, the FAA Part 107 examination for a Remote Pilot Certificate shortly after. Furthermore, in the twenty-two months since Jude began learning CAD (he had never studied drafting before), he has developed his skills and knowledge at an astonishing rate and is now producing a truly excellent work product.

Given the rapid pace of Jude’s development during his time at Summit, the high quality of his current work, his willingness to take initiative and accept greater responsibilities, his stellar performance represents the Versatility that Summit celebrates. Thank you, Jude, for your drive and commitment to excellence!

Katherine R., GIS Analyst

Katherine is not only an extremely dedicated employee, but also a team player who is always ready to jump in and help her junior employees whenever they may need it. Every question or favor asked of her is responded to quickly and enthusiastically. Most impressive, though, is the efforts she has placed into building up the GIS program at Summit– A big step towards broadening our service offerings in this pivotal market. Thank you, Katherine, for not only your dedication to our Summit community values, but also your endeavor to improve and expand on our GIS program. Your commitment is commendable!

Dillon D., Civil Designer II

Dillon has only been with Summit for about a year, but in that time, he has already excelled in his role as a Civil Designer II. His presence brings a much-needed resource to the group; as individuals have moved on to new opportunities, Dillon has stepped up to the plate without hesitation to assist in any way that is needed. Aside from the role he plays within the group as an individual, his personality brings in a positive attitude and laughter every day. More than that, Dillon is extremely motivated, self-starting, and always willing to help others when time allows. Thank you, Summit, for bringing excellence to work every week– your commitment to growth is a benefit to Summit as a whole!

Kristi Cheek, Department Manager
Kristi joined the Summit Community a year ago to captain our efforts to expand into a new market and service line. In that year, she has been a very strong leader and driving force behind shaping the nascent Stormwater Planning & Compliance department. Kristi not only brought strong talent on-board with her, but she also promotes a positive and energized working environment, emphasizing a willingness to teach others– even those outside of her department! Her commitment to shaping a productive, growing, vibrant, and collaborative environment is a shining example of Building Success, one of Summit’s core values. Thank you, Kristi, for everything you’ve brought to our company!
Joseph L., Transportation Technician I
Brody W., Structural Designer I
Donnie N., Sr. Construction Inspector

We would also like to congratulate Joseph, Brody, and Donnie for their hard work and dedication to the ongoing projects and Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in western North Carolina!

Congrats!

With so many talented members of our firm, it’s a real accomplishment to be recognized for a Pinnacle award. Please join us in congratulating these seven individuals for their exceptional contributions to our company which have led to our continued success. We’re proud to employ so many exceptional individuals and are honored to reward them for their service. Thanks to our winners for all that they do—after all, when our employees succeed, Summit thrives!
