Q3 Pinnacle Awards

Announcing Our Q3 Pinnacle Award Winners!

With fourteen different service departments and numerous offices throughout the southeast, Summit has a lot on its plate– and a lot of employees under its roof!

It’s that time of year again, when the autumnal chill sweeps the streets. Though the end of the year seems close, we still have a ways to go– and another Pinnacle Award to announce!

Enter the Pinnacle Program: an employee recognition program that ensures that our staff is recognized and rewarded for their dedication to upholding our values.

What is the Pinnacle Program?

The Pinnacle Program is our means of giving back to our employees. Each quarter, we recognize up to eight individuals from a pool of nominees put forward by their peers.

Any team member at any level can submit a nomination for someone they feel should be recognized. This ensures that every voice in the company has the opportunity to be heard and represented. Furthermore, our goal is for employees to feel gratified knowing that their coworkers see and appreciate their service.

Our 2023 Q3 Pinnacle Award Winners!

James W., Transportation Technician I

James is a stellar example of someone doing the right thing, even if it’s not convenient. He took time out of his workday to stop and help a distressed citizen who was stranded in the middle of Capital Boulevard in Raleigh. This unfortunately meant he was not able to submit his reports on time. He apologized to the client and was transparent about the reason. This shows his integrity—James was willing to step up and do the right thing even at the potential cost to himself, and we honor him for his moral compass and willingness to lend himself to the greater good.

Julie F., Project Architect II

Julie is a real star in Summit’s Architecture department. She brings an amazingly positive attitude to every situation, good or bad, and her energy is infectious. Her amazing attitude helps contribute to the team’s overall morale, giving them the boost they need to tackle any challenges they might face. Her enthusiasm for her job and for the projects she works on is matched only by her eagerness to learn and grow as a person. We thank her for her hard work and for the amazing effort she puts into every aspect of her position.

Jim A., Civil Designer II
Jim is an incredible personality within the Raleigh office. His warm, enthusiastic attitude is the very epitome of Summit’s Welcoming Community value, a value he embodies in his everyday interactions with everyone he comes across during his day in the office. Jim is known for being the first to jump in and help during a given situation, but most of all, he’s motivated to improve not only himself but our firm as a whole—helping us to create the very best atmosphere we can achieve for our employees.

Jake R., Field Technician II
Jake has gone above in behind this past quarter. He’s been a tremendous asset to his current project, going above and beyond what is typically required for his position and assisting in any way possible. His efforts have led to the project contractor achieving their goals, all while keeping the client’s best interest and Summits reputation in mind. His efforts have ensured that Summit maintains its reputation as a quality, trusted firm, and his work keeps opinion of us at an all-time high.
Sherry Y., Senior Project Manager
Sherry is known to be a very dedicated, loyal, and passionate employee. Since joining Summit, she has worked with numerous offices throughout North Carolina to help us deliver successful projects for our clients.  She is the first to jump in an assist other Team members with their project assignments so that our deadlines are always met. Her hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed—she’s helped bring in new clients and develop relationships that will lead to greater success for everyone in our firm. Way to go, Sherry!
Jason S., Transportation Technician II
Jason is an outstanding Summit employee. He is a true model of our company’s values and places a high value on teamwork, cooperation, and communication to ensure each task is being performed at peak value. On his current project, he has embraced his role as a mentor to a new employee over the last couple months. His example to this new employee has helped him to feel wanted and allowed him to transition to a new career path. This represents the very heart of the Summit Welcoming Community, and we’re proud to have Jason here to inspire our new employees and help them establish a future at Summit.

Congrats!

With so many talented members of our firm, it’s a real accomplishment to be recognized for a Pinnacle award. Please join us in congratulating these six individuals for their exceptional contributions to our company which have led to our continued success. We’re proud to employ so many exceptional individuals and are honored to reward them for their service. Thanks to our winners for all that they do—after all, when our employees succeed, Summit thrives!
