Announcing Our Q4 Pinnacle Award Winners!

The final Pinnacle Award winners for 2023 have been announced!

As the year closed out and the holiday spirit swept through our staff, these tenacious individuals continued to give it their all to ensure that our company would hit the ground running in 2024. Their hard work has made so much possible, and we would be remiss not to thank them!

Enter the Pinnacle Program: an employee recognition program that ensures that our staff is recognized and rewarded for their dedication to upholding our values.

What is the Pinnacle Program?

The Pinnacle Program is our means of giving back to our employees. Each quarter, we recognize up to eight individuals from a pool of nominees put forward by their peers.

Any team member at any level can submit a nomination for someone they feel should be recognized. This ensures that every voice in the company has the opportunity to be heard and represented. Furthermore, our goal is for employees to feel gratified knowing that their coworkers see and appreciate their service.

Our 2023 Q3 Pinnacle Award Winners!

Donald Pearson Headshot
Donald P., Assistant Resident Engineer

Donald is an exemplary leader at Summit. His passion for his work is matched only by his care and empathy for his staff. His crucial focus on helping build the team and promoting development is admirable, and he always encourages them to strive to be their best self. We believe others could learn from his dedication and encouragement, traits that build a strong team and a strong management style.

Wes R., Transportation Technician IV
Wes, who has been with Summit for nearly 20 years (!), has everything needed to make a project successful at the ground level: hard work, dedication, a good attitude, and a heck of a lot of practical know-how. His hard work is recognized by his peers and clients alike. Just last year, a temporary contract that started in January turned into a nearly year-long assignment due to the client requesting to retain his services! Wes never complains and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and because of this, he has proven himself to be a trustworthy and steadfast member of our team.
Don C., Civil Designer II

Don’s vast experience in the industry and general reliability have established him as an incredible resource for the Civil team in Hillsborough, enabling them to take on a diverse range of projects. Over Don’s five years at Summit, he has saved clients millions in construction costs through his creative designs and out-of-the-box thinking. This flexibility has taught the team to look at projects from new perspectives and to be open to shifting priorities– a strategy that has positively impacted our team’s overall design quality and production. We truly appreciate Don’s thoughtful and confident approach,  which produces solutions that reduce cost and improve constructability, and are excited to honor him for all he’s done at Summit!

Jennifer M., Senior Structural Engineer
Jenny checks the box on all of Summit’s core values. She demonstrates community by being among the first to introduce herself to new employees, demonstrates trust and integrity by taking the lead in developing the Structural QA/QC policy, and demonstrates versatility by never avoiding a challenge. She quickly transitions from one project to another and has been instrumental in building a successful team by mentoring interns and encouraging every team member’s growth. More than this, Jenny also embraces Fun. She will be the first to start a conversation at lunch, decorate our workspace for holidays, volunteer for community events, and participate in Company-sponsored events, including a recent 5k race. All of this and more is why Jenny is being honored with a Pinnacle Award– she is truly a shining example of the values Summit strives to encompass.
A. Porter, Creative Writer
Porter has been an essential asset to Summit’s marketing team as our Creative Writer. This might be an odd title for an engineering firm, but from the beginning, Porter has produced incredible work on a wide variety of projects. No task is too big or small– when it comes to any challenge she may face, Porter is always up for the task. Whether it be maintaining our website, designing web pages, migrating our company intranet, managing and writing for our social media, performing critical QA/QC work, drafting presentations, or even just penning her many writing pieces, Porter’s work is always amazing. She strives to create a meaningful voice for Summit and to shape the way we are seen throughout the web and beyond. She has worked extremely hard and rigorously for every project that comes her way– a clear demonstration of versatility, and we thank her for all the support she lends to the rest of the Summit community!

Congrats!

With so many talented members of our firm, it’s a real accomplishment to be recognized for a Pinnacle award. Please join us in congratulating these six individuals for their exceptional contributions to our company which have led to our continued success. We’re proud to employ so many exceptional individuals and are honored to reward them for their service. Thanks to our winners for all that they do—after all, when our employees succeed, Summit thrives!
